Kambaku River Lodge, Luxury River Accommodation, Malelane, Elephant grazing on the banks of the Crocodile River overlooking the Kruger National Park. Cry of the Fish Eagle as the early morning sun lit up the mountain with hippos gliding down the Crocodile River. Yellow throated Long-claw landed on the front lawn and the Pied Wagtails chatted back and forth to one another. Never a dull moment in the bush – what more could one ask for!
We had a visit from approximately 60 buffalo this morning who came down to the river to drink. They spent the rest of the day grazing and resting on the banks right across from the lodge. They set off into the bush as the sun began to set.
What a sad sight to see the swallows gathering to leave for Europe, however we await their return in the summer. For all the bird lovers we have an abundance of birds that can be seen at the lodge. Feasting on the berries of the Ficus tree the Trumpeter Hornbill graced us with his presence today. A regular visitor Mr Elephant who does not disappoint us strolled by going up river. I hope to see him later on the way down.
