The tourism industry is one of the hardest hit by the spread of COVID-19. With all travel coming to a halt overnight, and trips to Africa immediately put on hold, those working in one of Africa’s biggest business sectors have been left with a lot of uncertainty about their futures.
Kambaku River Lodge is not exempt from the immense impact that having no tourism has created and while we know that things will get better in time, we are well aware of the fact that there are many companies that face closure, even if it is only temporary.
But we are optimistic, and while the travel ban is set to be around for quite a while, we like to see opportunity in this time of crisis.

Looking back, many travellers will probably have one or two holidays that were not properly thought out and as a result, didn’t meet expectations.
When you plan a post-lockdown trip, make sure that you take a little extra time to be more thoughtful about your holiday. Are you going somewhere you really want to go or are you simply choosing a destination based on its ongoing popularity?
- Take control
It is absolutely daunting to take on all of the logistics planning for your holiday, but if you change your mind set, you can see that daunting can also be empowering. We all know the benefits of working with a travel agent, but if you are looking to save money and visit places that are not on their travel packages, you can take on the logistics yourself.
