Kambaku River Lodge lion Kruger Park big five

Kambaku River Lodge, situated neatly on the border of the Kruger National Park, on the Southern banks of the Crocodile River, is in the perfect location to enjoy a real African safari. We have our own safari vehicle and an expert, experienced guide on board to take you into the Kruger for a morning or afternoon safari. We explore the south of the Kruger, going deep into the lower regions of the park to catch sight of some of the amazing wildlife and the Big Five.

The areas we travel in are well-known for their abundant wildlife populations and have become an excellent location in which to see the Big 5. A day in the park is a must, and we encourage you to bring your camera along, as you’ll want to capture memories of the animals you see.

Guests who have driven to the lodge with their own vehicles can self-drive in the Kruger. Some of the advantages of a self-drive safari is that you can choose where you go and where you stop for a snack. Keep in mind that regardless of how you choose to explore the Kruger, you will need to pay an entry and conservation fee.

Our Kruger Park lodge is situated about 17 km from the Malelane Gate and about 50 km from Crocodile Bridge Gate. We use the Malelane Gate primarily; it is closer and in an area of the park best known for seeing the Big 5, Leopard, Lion, Elephant, Buffalo and Rhino. You can of course also get to see the Big 7, with the Cheetah and Wilddog added to the list. We never forget the small five , the ugly five and of course all the amazing birds of Kruger National Park.
